Stephen Booth Dip.Tchg, CLU, AFP  -  Director

Originally a Primary School Teacher (Diploma of Teaching achieved 1980) I started in the Financial Services industry in 1982 and have been continuously in it ever since. My specialist areas are Personal Risk Management, Retirement Planning and Investment Planning. I am a member of the "Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA)" and have been since its inception. A membership requirement is continuing education and I exceed these requirements on an annual basis. I achieved ALU (Associate Life Underwriter) status in December 2004, AFP (Associate Financial Planner) status in May 2009 and CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) in December 2009.

I have passed Adviserlink courses on:
Personal Risk Management, Disability Income Insurance (Merit), Financial Planning (Merit), Introduction to Financial Planning 5 Day Course (Honours), Practice Management (Honours), Business Financial Services (Merit).

Since January 2005 I have been studying extra-murally through Massey University aiming towards attainment of a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Personal Risk Management and Personal Financial Planning) and to date have passed 9 papers. These Massey papers also contribute towards the attainment of CFP (Certified Financial Planner) which I expect to achieve by 2012.

I am also a member of "Professional Advisers Association (PAA)".

Lynne and I have been married since 1987 and have 2 children (Michaela and Elliott). Having been a keen sportsman all my life I still play cricket for Sumner. My Winter activities are pretty much restricted to spectator status these days plus some minor coaching involvement with our children's sport.

Bruce Philips ALU  -  Director

I first entered the financial services industry in 1975 as an adviser for the Northern Building Society.  This culminated in my appointment as Branch Manager (United Bank) at Levin from 1980 until 1982. For the next three years I owned and operated Horsley Rest Home with my wife Jane. I then returned to the financial services industry in 1985 where I have been ever since. My specialist area's are Business Insurance, Personal Risk Management, Retirement Planning and Investment Planning.

I am a member of the 'Institute of Financial Advisers' (IFA) and have been since its inception and I fully endorse their Code of Practice.  A membership requirement is continuing education units and I exceed these requirements on an annual basis. I am a Past Chairman of the Canterbury Branch of the IFA, having served on the committee for 6 years.

 I was appointed Director of PIH (NZ) in 2009.

 Jane and I have been married since 1975 and have three daughters, Kate, Hannah and Olivia. My interests include running, road cycling, gym, reading, rugby and family.

 

Lindsay Strathdee CLU, AFP  -  Director

I joined the Financial Services Industry in 1987. Since then I have established a Canterbury and West Coast client base. After completing a diploma of Life Insurance in 1991 I achieved Chartered Life Underwriter (C.L.U.) status in 1998 and Associate Financial Planner (A.F.P.) in 2004. I expect to complete the Diploma in Business Studies (Financial Planning) through Massey by the end of 2009.

As well as improving service to existing clients a focus is on meeting the special needs of business and farming clients.

I have been married to Sally (who is an independent midwife) for 25 years and we have three children James, Andrew and Jessica.  All enjoy the outdoors and exploring a new tramping track is a priority school holiday activity, with the odd trout for a bonus.

 

Ross Laredo  -  Adviser

I joined the Financial Services Industry in 2003 after a long career in the apparel industry. Having managed businesses for many years, I am a strong believer in professional advice and the need for prudent planning. My many years of business activity have reinforced to me the need for well structured, comprehensive Business and Personal Risk insurance planning. My advice process adopts a holistic approach incorporating Risk Management, Debt Management and Investment Planning.

As a member of the IFA (Institute of Financial Planners) and PAA (Professional Advisers Association) I fully endorse their Code of Practice and continuing educational requirements. I have completed the following papers:

I am also currently working toward the Diploma in Business Studies (Financial Planning) through Massey University. On a personal note, outside of business my interests are tennis, sailing, golf and the spectator sport of rugby. I am also an avid music lover and enjoy the opportunity to take in a concert or relax at home with some great music on the stereo.

I am married to Adrienne and we have two daughters.

 

Sarah Riley  -  Office Administrator

For the first 7 years of my career I was a Qualified Hairdresser. I started in the Administration field in 2006 working as an Office Assistant for an Electronic Services Company and moved onto Premier Financial Group in April 2007 as Office Administrator.

I am really enjoying the Insurance and Financial Services industry and all the challenges that come my way.

Kyle and I got married in February 2007 and have recently built a new home in Brooklands. My interests include playing social netball, touch rugby, travelling and spending time with friends, family and of course my husband.
